Search only showing MS Word hits

After 2 years of working just fine, the XP search feature is now only showing
MS Word files as hits. Almost all of my work is in WordPerfect. The "type
of files" is selected to "show all file types," so that's not the problem. I
cannot select "WordPerfect 11 files" because some of the files I want to
search are from earlier WP versions. Any idea what caused this and how it
can be remedied? Thanks.
