SP2 Firewall question

I would like to be able to connect to my office from home but when I
turn on the SP2 firewall, I can no longer do so. How do I set up my
office unit so that I can connect from home, yet still have the firewall
on for intruders? Thanks for any help.

Connect to it how?

Remote Desktop?
VPN?

How exactly do you connect normally?
What program do you use at the home end to make the connection?

The answer to this will determine how to proceed.
