I made sure my Linksys firmware was updated, but when UPnP is enabled my msn
messenger kept losing connection every 10 minutes or so. After I disable
UPnP everything is back to normal. Any solution around this issue.

Kyle,

Interesting you mention this as I have just finally come up with the same
conclusion.

Out of interest what router and firmware are you using, mine is the BEFSR41
ver2 running firmware 1.46.2

What has been bugging me for ages is that large http downloads stop, I spent
all day yesterday looking at this to find that is dmz was enabled for the
particular machine all was fine. I then removed dmz and the problem returned
but the other thing I had noticed is that when upnp is enabled the icon
under "my network places" comes and goes! Turning off upnp fixes the http
downloads as well as msn.

I don't have a solution and am in the same boat as yourself

So the question is can MSN work without upnp on multiple machines hanging
off the same router.?

Regards,

Paul

Same problem here, frequent red lites on the router and
disconnects.

I did not try DMZ.
