Installed SP2 from CD disc on Home edition and now have a folder with the
ungainly name of daf68347bdeb2dd0f1b152 at the top of my C disk tree; it in
turn has a subfolder called i386 which has only 2 files called 1394bus.sy_
(30KB) and 4mmdat.sy_ (7KB).Can I safely delete this or does it have to be
retained? Would normally adopt a 'try it and see' approach but am worried
that I might not be able to restart the computer!
With thanks
Bill

Reboot your computer. If that folder is still present after restart,
you can safely delete it. I found similar folders on my machines after
installing SP2 - deleting them did not harm at all.

Thanks Will and Detlev - your help is appreciated. Have deleted the
offending folder and everything still OK. Helpful article Will; if SP2 runs
smoothly for the next week or so I'll tidy up some more!
