Hi,

I installed XP SP 2 and my machine go into a loop. I reinstall XP Pro OS and
now my PC is working again.

How, I got problem when trying to start Ms Office XP 2003 Premium - I
uninstall and tried to reinstall but this error came out: "setup has detected
an incomplete windows xp service pack installation on your computer. Office
will not run properly until this update has been completed"

I do not wish to reinstall SP 2 again since it will put my PC in a loop
again...

I am running P4 2.4hz 256RAM - Would appreciate if anyone can assit...

tks much

Is your Windows XP legal, and activated? It's my understanding that if MS
detects it is not, it will only do a partial install of SP2, and most likely
hose your system.

This is wrong. If SP2 detects an illegal installation of XP, it will just
quit, it will NOT install anything at all.

What the person needs to do is to download the Windows Installer Clean-up
Utility from Microsoft Support (http://support.microsoft.com), then install
it, launch it and use it to delete the Windows XP Service Pack 2 details.
This should enable Office to launch. Additionally it may allow them to
install SP2 properly.

Hi.

It is fairly important to get the SP2 update installed and functioning
properly on your system so some effort in that direction is probably
worthwhile.

Here is a website with some information and advice about upgrading to
Service Pack 2 that may be of some assistance:

Good luck

Office XP 2003 Premium, eh? And where did you purchase this phantom Office
version?! There is no such thing. Or are you saying, albeit in a rather
cryptic manner, that you have three versions installed.

Office XP
Office 2003
Office 2000 (this was the only version ever to have had a Premium edition).
