Have a dell dem 2400 running xp home.. My friends kid is home for the
holiday and brought her pc home. It was... running very slow... After
clicking on the login icon , it took approx 20 minutes before i could do
anything.. Ran adaware for spyware removal.. uninstalled several search bars
etc in add.. remove programs. Also had 2 different virus programs, removed
one... The the reboot came into play...

I click on the logon icaon.. it say's loading prefs.... and then say's
saving settins and returns back to the logon screen... she has two
accounts.. it does it with both, as well with the admin acct... in safe
mode.. slaved the drive to another pc renamed the profile hoping that i
would pick up new settings and be done with it... nope... any
suggestions???

Log in with the built-in administrator account in safe mode & check the
