G'day
I have a Toshida notebook running XPSP2. Lately the icons at the bottom
right have gone haywaire and the settings I had are not reflected by what
comes up. Of particular worry is having no safely remove hardware icon as I
regularly use a usb thumb drive and D-link airplus DWL-650+ wireless card. I
have viewed a number of posts on the subject and tried the suggestions to no
avail. If I cutomise the icons the icons under past items, where the safely
remove is currently, mostly do not have their particular picture/icon but
have the windows folder tpye - I dont know if this is material to the
problem. I have tried option of always display and hide when inactive and
niether works. I am currenly having to unsafely remove these items and it is
a bit of a worry. Any suggestions? Thank you
Eddie

I suggest Kelly's site www.kellys-korner-xp click Utilities, and use the
Task Bar Toolkit Plus, top left, to repair notification area
