After installing SP2 yesterday I am having difficulty opening links to games
etc., from my email. This was fine before. Funny thing is, it opens say a
half dozen links and then it won't open any more, I have to copy them into
my browser. Can anyone help please? I am using Outlook Express with Myie2
browser

Please include all of the previous message in your replies here, Robert.

You need to associate a WinXP file-type named 'URL:Hypertext Transfer
Protocol' with MyIE2, a question best asked in a newsgroup such as, e.g.,
alt.comp.freeware, but let's see what we can do.

According to http://www.myie2.com/help/en/menu/menu_options.htm, you should
be able to set MyIE2 as the default via

MyIE2 Options>Default Browser>Set as default browser

....but doing so may not make hyperlinks in MS Outlook Express open in MyIE2.

You might try setting MyIE2 as the default browser via

WinXP Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Set program access and
defaults

....but again it still might not work for links in OE.

[IOW, don't expect a non-MS browser to work well in an MS OS and Mail
Client.]

However, if all was well before installing SP2, you might try:

1. reset IE as the default via MyIE2 Options>Default Browser>Restore
Last Default Browser

2a. reboot

2b. confirm that IE is the default in Add/Remove Programs > Set program
access and defaults

3. re-enable MyIE2 as the default via MyIE2 Options>default Browser>Set
as default browser.

[Alternate 3. uninstall MyIE2, reboot, reinstall it and set as default]

Having had (1) your anti-virus application and/or (2) MyIE2 open when you
installed SP2 may have led to a "dirty" install and the problem you're
having. YMMV & good luck.

OK thanks, I'll try it ..... got a notion it is something to do with my
active x settings as when my background picture is not loaded, it works but
after I load the picture, it doesn't, but that may be a coincidence
