Afraid that deleting from windows components does not do
the trick. I have deleted Messenger from everything I can
find, inhibited it from Outlook, Outlook Express and
Explorer and the thing STILL keeps signing in with out
asking me!!!

If any one knows how to get rid of it please help.

Greetings Robr,

You can stop this from happening by doing the following -- for Outlook (XP/2002), just open
Outlook, click the Tools menu, then Options,
then the Other tab, and uncheck 'Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook'. For Outlook
Express, close Outlook Express, and run this .reg file:
