Hi I hope someone can advice me on this. I have Windows XP Home and I have
recently upgraded to sp2.
I have had no major problems while using sp2, but the only problem I do have
is since I put on sp2 my pc takes really long to boot up. When I am using
the pc there are no problems but only in the boot up process.
When I installed sp2 I noticed that it archived the old system files does
this have anything to do with the slow boot up process.
Any help will be appreciated

check your startup folder - type "msconfig" in the start/run box and
deselect all the items you don't want to start

totally unrelated to SP2 as that problem would have existed beforehand.
It sounds as though a complete disk cleanup is in order to remove all .tmp
files, followed by a thorough defrag.

SP2 adds Security Center, that is what slowed down my machine.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I seem to have the same problem. After I downloaded the sp2 my restart takes
like 8 minutes to load up my computer. I have read a lot of these posting and
everyone seems to say go in under "msconfig". I have done that many times and
have enabled all of them and it has no affect on this problem. If i unchecked
all of them my computer should restart and come to my desktop page in less
than a minute right? Well it doesn't. Its something else. Anyone have any
other ideas?
Thanks
