Voice over 3com SuperStack3

I have a client whose business connects to the internet through two 3com Baseline Dual Speed Hubs 3C16593B SuperStack 3.

The owner's personal laptop is running XP Home.

We have no problem communicating with VoIP (using Messenger) to another computer on their LAN, but when we try to connect to an outside computer for VoIP, we cannot connect.

Any ideas?
