I've installed the 4.7 version of Windows Messenger.
After the install, I clicked on the icon - it wouldn't
open. It does nothing.

I installed the 5.0 version of Windows Messenger. Same
problem. Click on the icon, it does nothing.

I then installed MSN Messenger. It worked. I
uninstalled it and attempted to reinstalled version 5.0
of Windows Messenger. -- Nothing. Won't open.

Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings Steve,

Try downloading and running these .reg files:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablewindowsmessenger_user.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablemessenger.reg

After this, reboot and see if you can load Windows Messenger.

I have the sam problem with Windows Messenger not loading. Tried both
suggestions from eugen and Jonathan, but neither worked. I'm at a loss.

Any other ideas?
Thanks
Marc
