device manager says their OK, no yellow exclamation points.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hi

What, exactly are you having problems with? No USB ports responding - with
a few more details someone may able to help you? Have you been into Device
Manager, deleted all references to the USB ports, then rebooted, so as
Windows can re-detect them? What have you got connected to the USB ports
that may be causing the problem?

USB's won't recognize any device. In "device manager" system says they're
enabled and working. Have not tried to "delete' all references in device
manager. Would you do this under <files> <options> <disk clean-up> and
reboot?

The only device connected to USB is the printer and it worked fine with SP1.

Hi

Any on-screen error messages? As the only device you have connected ATM is
a printer - which obviously isn't working - try completely
uninstalling/reinstalling the device:

It's not the printer. Uninstalled/reinstalled it already. No change. Have
tried other USB devices such as mouse, and numerous thumb drives. No
response on any USB port. Once again, all 6 ports USB 2.0 ports worked fine
with SP1. After SP2 install none of them work.

Tried it. No change for the USB's, printer or any other USB device
connected.

I have the same problem:

After installing SP2 sucessfully the USB Subsystem on my A7N8X Deluxe
Rev 1.04 (NForce2) is not recognised anymore.
All ...\system32\drivers\usb*.sys have Version 5.1.2500.2180
consistenly. (also hccoin.dll and usbui.dll)

Device Manager
-2x Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
-1x Standard Extended PCI to USB Host Controller
... says "Code 39" driver not available or damaged!

Deleting USB controllers and rebooting did not help.
I could not install the old USB drivers which came with the Asus Mobo
Driver CD and which where working with SP1.

Under SP1 the onboard USB Host Controller was recognized and
functioning properly with multiple USB devices attached.

I would really appreciate any help, as I have wasted a full day
with un/installing, checking Knowlege Base articles, etc...
It seems the Microsoft XP system is fooling me again.

Kind Regards,
Lophiomys

Same problem here. USB ports worked fine before SP2 install. Now devices
connected to them aren't recognized. I also noticed that "Human Interface
Devices" that used to appear in the Device Manager is gone. I spoke to Dell
tech support and their "solution" was to uninstall SP2.

JM&J!!!
