Just updated to sp2. I have a network connection. But no connections are
displayed in the network connection dialog. When I use the wizard to start
the dialog it starts then stops. Any idea.

Hi

Registering the following DLLS may help.

From Start/Run, run the following commands:

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\atl.dll

then

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\hnetcfg.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\netshell.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\netcfgx.dll
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\netman.dll

Then do a reboot.

No luck. I do have other problems as well. Cannot install some programs.
Is it possible that i have a bad install of sp2? what is the downside of
just reinstalling over the top of the previous install?

Hi

I would have uninstalled SP2 first, and then installed it again...

How do you connect? Through a router/modem?

SP2 killed the LAN on some motherboards.

It got me, and several other people, showing a warning about "limited"
connectivity. I first got round it by inserting a different LAN card.

Since then, Micros**t has put out an update that mends the on board
LAN. Trouble is, I have forgotten what it was called. I think I found
it by hammering Google.
