hi
all my 4 instant messengers MSN,Yahoo,ICQ and Paltalk are
not working properly. in yahoo although i am able to
logon
and recieve status of new email messages,friends online
and send IMs to my friends and they recieve it, but i
cant
recieve their messages,also couldnt join any chatrooms .
in MSN i m not able to sign in maybe becos of the wrong
IP
address its trying to pick up thru DNS or DNS itself.
maybe some IHCP problem, but i dont know wot exactly it
is. in
paltalk i am able to sign in and send IMs, but couldnt
join any chatrooms and recieve IMs.1 funny thing
happening in
yahoo is i can send large file sizes in seconds as if i m
on LAN.
it seems that all 3 applications are trying to call a
same file which is non-existent, corrupt, overwitten or
old
no i m not connecting thru any proxy service. just using
the IP address assigned to my PC by my ISP.
this problem is getting severe and i thought of
formatting my root drive, but instead chose to post my
query here in hope
of getting some help. i have norton antivirus working
absolutely fine and latest Zone Alarm 3.7.202. other
applications
accessing thru zone alarm are
application layer gateway service(alg.exe)
COM surrogate( i need to know whats this, the filename is
dllhost.exe)
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services(svchost.exe)
IIS (inetinfo.exe)
Message Queuing Service(mqsvc.exe)
SNMP and its trap service
Also please let me know inspite of the Firewall and
antivirus, thru which of the windows system files carry
the possibility of data packets coming from the ISP
containng a virus.
pls help me out as soon as possible.
