Can somebody please help me. I had been getting a
firewall log that said it was a inbound udp from port
1026 from IP address 64.156.39.12, 1026 doom (666).
Nobody seems to know just what it is so I wrote a
firewall rule to block it. Now, about every two minutes
msmsgs.exe triggers an alert from the firewall. Have run
several virus and security scans and even spybot to see
if anything is on my computer. Nothing. This claims to
be one of the svchost processes but nobody seems to know
anything about it. What is it and is it a necessary?
Tried to logon to IP but it said restricted site. Could
not even do a trace. The full message of the alert is
(C:\ProgramFiles\Messenger\msmsgs.exe is preparing to
access the internet). Windows Messenger has been
disabled for quite sometime now. I turned off logging for
the block so that it wouldn't fill my log up. My puter
is system is XP HE. Any thought or ideas would be
greatly appreciated. This thing is really annoying me.
Thanks
