It's quite possibly a CODEC that your new installation is
using by default - unless your friends have also upgraded
to 4.7.
Off-hand I can't recall the exact procedure to set your
default CODECs, but I would guess the best way would be
to simply re-install the old messenger until Microsoft
stops trying to instate new features <<<by default>>>
with every new upgrade. WIth on-line downloads the rule
is simple...
Ignore the hype, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
