Neither one!

First of all I hope I can explain my problem as good as can be, I'm from
Belgium and my language is Dutch.
But I'll give it a try anyway. Here I'll go ;-)) I hope some experts here
can help me!!

After installing a new HD and putting back all the programs everything was
just fine untill I upgrade Windows Messenger from 4.6 to 5.0.

Windows Messenger and also MSN Messenger 6 does not work anymore. The MSN
icons keep on turning and turning and can't log in. Windows Messenger logs
in and my contacts see it. But I'm unable to see when they 'call' me. I can
see who's online but I'm unable to 'talk' to them. They don't see me!! And
after a few minutes I'm offline again.

Anyone an idea what to do? I've read all the problems others have and tried
everything I've read, but nothing seems to help.

It's getting to me that I can't use Messenger with all my friends and
family...

Do you use windows xp? maybe you nead to configure the windows xp fierwall

Yes, it's Windows XP Pro. The firewall is disabled.
All the other computers (hubby, son) can connect.
All the servicepacks and updates are installed.

ps: Sorry for the multiple postings, but OE said my message was not send,( I
got an error for sending) it was still in my Outbox.(and so each time it
checked my mail, it was send again?)
