I put of downloading and installing SP2 for WinXP Home. I just went to Windows Updates and it seems to be all changed. There is nothing there in the critical or any of the categories for d/ling SP2.
I was advised by a few people that if I wanted a "no problem" d/l and installation as far as my computer and existing programs go, it is better to d/l it from Windows Updates rather than Windows Download Centre.
After having perused the D/L centre I can't seem to find it there either although those warnings mentioned above about doing it from the Updates site being so much more problem free has now given me pause for thought.
Can anyone prod me in the right direction?
Much appreciated.
Thank you

Don't recommend download, period! Get the CD, it is faster and more stable.
Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD

Teri,
like everything "new" there are things that you may not appreciate until you
get to know a little more about why it does what it does. No one is a
computer "genius" which is why we are here in these groups for answers.
Getting back to your question: you should go ahead and update to SP2. You'll
find that the update is mainly about internet "security". What you may not
appreciate is the fact that you cannot re-install XP without removing this
update first. That's because your XP/CD will not simply replace msssing files
because you now have "newer'' file installed. This can be frustrating but
it's still worth getting. No, it will not make your computer crazy; just
safer.
