No. Microsoft Service Packs are cumulative, and SP2 includes all
earlier fixes, including those in SP1.

Ken,
I got the Security Update CD (February 2004) from Microsoft. Can I assume that it
contains all security updates to that date, including SP1?

No you do not. SP2 is comprehensive and includes all SP1 items (and
supersedes some of them). But I would advise having a CD of it ready to
hand, not trying to do it via Windows Update

Scott;
Service Pack 1 is on that CD.
However since SP-2 is released, that CD is only good for a coaster as far as
Windows XP is concerned.
