I have just upgraded to XP and also installed Office XP.
I have been going crazy trying to figure out how to make
MSN Messenger run with Outlook instead of Windows
Messenger. I was so pleased to see that I am not the lone
ranger in this. I thought I was just "not too bright".
I am very very surprised that Microsoft did not bother to
make any mention of the differences between the two
messenger systems or that you can't (easily) delete
Windows Messenger. If they had is would have saved me
several sleepless nights.
Is there any way that I can use Outlook for my email etc
instead of Outlook Express but be able to use MSN
Messenger. Secondly, is there anyway that I can stop
Windows Messenger logging in everytime I open Outlook as
this shuts down MSN Messenger.
Once I solve this problem, then I only have to try to get
my DVD player to work again, my Cd Burner to work again
and my sound card to work again Oh and my web Cam and a
couple of other things, like stopping the service warning
everytime I log on to tell me it can't connect my e-
support button on my computer tower to Hardware (Dell
Support Hot key).anyway other than that the changeover to
XP was seemless.......or should I say Madness.
I hope you can help me Johnathon. I have been reading your
posts and you seem to be a wealth of knowledge
Bless ya
Colin
P.S. Is the upcoming release of Office 2003 going to
address any of these Outlook Windows Messenger anomolies
