Afternoon,
I don't believe you can do it with the built-in XP
firewall.
You could try downloading and installing Sygate or
ZoneAlarm free firewalls and when Messenger asks to access
the internet, deny it access. That is how I stop it on my
XP. Not sure how it might affect your network though.
Would read about it at both websites first.
