First thankyou Johnathon for your last answer, however I
have been using OE as my email now as it it easier.
Firstly, my messenger contact list appears in the
messenger itself (msn and wm) but the messenger contacts
no longer appear at the top of my email contacts list.
(and yes I have checked that I have listed by name).
Secondly, I have performed the following in Outlook
Explorer to try and stop Windows Messenger opening up when
I open OE (so it doesn't then log my MSN Messenger out)
Tools-options-general-autologon Windows Messenger -
UNCHECKED; Tools-Windows Messenger-Options-Preferences-Run
When Windows Start - UNCHECKED.
Now even with both these things unchecked in Outlook
Explorer, everytime I open up Outlook Explorer the Windows
Messenger still starts up and knocks the good MSN
Messenger off. Why is this happening after I have asked it
not to. What else can I do? I am really not enjoying my
computer anymore since I loaded XP. Are they going to
bring out an updated version of XP anytime soon to address
this?. In the mean time what can I do. as everything I
have been told to stop WM opening up unless I want it does
not work

Greetings Colin,

You're very welcome. MSN Messenger will not integrate into Outlook Express, but you can stop
Windows Messenger from interfering. To do so, close Outlook Express, then download and run
this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg
After running/importing, start Outlook Express and Windows Messenger will no longer load.
