SP2 preventing downloading

SP2 prevents me from downloading ANYTHING from within IE or Mozilla - to
download a file I have to drag and drop it into a dl program. Then it dl's
fine.

I've disabled all the XP firewall and antivirus junk, and tried to disable
the security centre - but the little $%£er keeps restarting itself when I
end the process.

I have EZ antivirus and firewall installed and running, and they've never
caused any problems before SP2. Computer is also clean under Ad-Aware.

I've turned off the pop-up blocker in IE and put the security settings to
default.

No luck with anything. The only way I can download something is if I can
drag and drop the direct link into a dl program.

Any flash is also prevented from running

Does anyone know a fix please? This is quite annoying.

Have you figured out the problem? I have 5 machines in my house, 2 of which
are running xp, and one running xp prof. 1 xp machine I installed sp2 on all
my drag and drop functions stopped, i tried to correct, had no luck, put a
fresh hard drive in and reinstalled, still had no luck 2 times with a full
reformat, I flashed the bios still had no luck, I believe it installed
something in pentium 4 proccesser......., the machine is now in pieces. The
2nd xp is a home built, after installing sp2 my dvd burner came up totally
inoperatable, ihave not had a chance to work on that machine yet because I'm
still working on the first one, and I hope it didn't install anything to the
processor, its amd, but to give you an idea its called EULA copy protect, and
i have no intention of putting sp2 on my 3rd machine. I also found if you go
to msn download the auto intall gets turned on without your knowledge, sp2
has been trying to install on my 3rd machine all morning and caused 5
crashes, i made the mistake of leaving it on all nite and it auto updated to
sp2, I'm now trying to get sp2 off this machine totally, Its a pentium 3 so I
feel confident. Good Luck
