DEFAULT PRINTER CHANGE !!

Hello There:

I have a small network. In one XP-pro, I have a Epson fotostylus R800
printer locally installed and shared. I have another XP-pro which has two
printers installed; a HP network printer (the default one) and the Epson
previously mentioned. If I print to the HP there is not problem at all. When
I print to the Epson, it print properly but it change and take the role as
the DEFAULT one. I did put back the HP as the default but It get change if
I send the job to the EPSON. Rebooting was not also the solution

Any ideas ?

I had the same problem with stylus photo r200. When it´s used, windows
automatcaly set this printer to default.

Some one know how solve this problem?

Make sure that you have the latest driver from Epson for your printer and
Windows XP.

What program are you using when this happens? Are you selecting the printer
from within the program? Does it happen when you select this printer from
other programs? It may be the program that you are using that is changing
the default printer and not Windows. Windows should only change it when you
change the default printer in the Printers folder.

Some printers insist on being the default. You should contact Epson and see
what they say.
