Trouble verifing email address

1. Windows messenger keeps telling me to go to my email
address and respond to the message from windows messenger
(in order to verify my email address). I go there and
there is no email message. How do I get this email sent
to me?

(This started happening after I installed Visual
Studio.NET)

2. Why do I need windows messenger for Visual Studio.NET?

1. If you never received the verification e-mail, and have waited 48 hours since you signed
up for Passport, you can request another
one at Passport Services:
