msngr keeps shutting down remote machine

msngr keeps shutting down remote machine when using
application sharing due to "remote procedure call"
both machines are running xp home ed sp1.
please help

Greetings Bryan,

It sounds like the PC is being hit with an RPC exploit. To correct, install this patch:
http://microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp

If this happens again (say while you're downloading the patch), click Start, then Run, then
type "cmd" and click OK. Then on the command line, type:
shutdown -a

This will abort the shutdown and allow you to install the patch.

You can then remove any worm that causes this that may have infected your PC using this tool:
