View Full Version : Outlook Express and Messenger

I just purchased XP Home Edition, and every time I start
Outlook Express , the Messenger program also starts.
Within Outlook Express, I have gone to Tools, Options and
deselected the box that asks if I want to have Messenger
start when Outlook starts. All the Messenger contacts
fill up my Outlook contacts. I know I can go to Tools ,
Messenger and ask that Messenger be logged off after I
have started Outlook, but that's not what I should have
to do. I simply want each program (Outlook and Messenger)
to run when I ask them to run, (not be interlinked).

If anyone has a suggestion, I would really appreciate it.

Greetings Martin,

To solve this problem (and unlink both programs from each other), simply close Outlook
Express, then download and run this .reg file:
