windows messenger for 98

[jargonize]

is there a way to install windows messenger in 98 so
someone with xp or 2000 can send messages to the person
with windows 98?

Greetings jargaonize,

Windows Messenger only installs on Windows XP or Windows 2000. However, MSN Messenger is
available for Windows 95, 98, ME (as well as 2000, XP, Mac, PocketPC, and others) which will
allow you to talk to people on Windows Messenger -- they both operate on the same network.

Hi jargonize,

Yes, logging in is exactly the same (same login/password). Other clients which support the
..NET Messenger network (ex. Trillian -- http://www.trillian.cc) also can communicate with MSN
Messenger and Windows Messenger users -- it's all the same.
