re-installing sp2 or ie6

I am having trouble since a file was corrupted. I may have to repair XP, but
am hoping to try a reinstall of ie or sp2 first, but can not figure out how
to do it.

The "How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in
Windows XP" article says nothing about repairing or reinstalling ie, though
the title seems to imply that it would. In addition, the section on
reinstalling sp2 has nothing on reinstalling sp2. In fact, following the
directions, I was not even able to download sp2.

So I ask: How can I reinstall sp2?
How can I reinstall ie6?

The problem seems to be that I can not download the software to reinstall it.

You could try a System Restore
