I have two XP machines and have MSN Messenger 6 installed
on both of them. I want to try to use the Remote
Assistance for working remotely and sharing applications.
I do have Windows Messenger installed, I've just went to
Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, and
unchecked "Windows Messenger". Just to get rid of it and
still have it working properly so I can use MSN Messenger
6. I'm unable to get this to work.

Perhaps, you have to be using only Windows Messenger in
order to get this to work? I've not tried it with Windows
Messenger yet. However, in MSN Messenger 6, I click "Ask
Remote Assistance" and the user accepts the invitation.
Then what should happen next? I then tell the user to
click "Application Sharing" so then I can share the
application. However, nothing happens after that. Any
suggestions?

The two machines are on a local area network, but they do
have a Internet connection. In fact, all of my machines
are running on a cable connection and "always online."
So, it should work.
