Hi all,
I have a slightly odd problem (for want of a better word). Since i updated
to sp2 my computer automatically opens "my documents" every time i boot up.
Not the worst thing that could be happening for sure but fairly annoying all
the same.
Any ideas on how to stop it? And whilst i'm here...may as well make the post
more generally useful...does anyone know how to edit what programs run at
startup? I cant seem to find something that isn't just the start menu (which
is not what i'm looking for).
Cheers in advance :)

Hi
Please try the following link to Kelly's web site:
Line 255 - right hand side

For the startup programs, from Start>Run type
msconfig
then click on the startrup tab. Uncheck any entries there for the programs
you don't want starting up with Windows. Then reboot your system Some
programs may have the startup settings configured within the actual program
and may not show up in msconfig>startup.

Simiarly to Wills post, you may want to have a look in the start up folder.
C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Start up.
The link to "My Documents" may somehow have been dragged in there. I'm
losing files all the time because I'm rubbish with a mouse and then I end up
having to search for the file.
If anything is in there you don't want, delete it and it shouldn't be an
issue any more.
I'd use Will's option first, and if that fails (which quite honestly it
shouldn't) then try this one.
