If what you are referring to is the grey pop-up adds in
windows messenger, this is a service embedded into NT
based operating systems for network messaging. You can
disable this by going to start, control panel,
performance and maintenance, administrative tools and
look for messenger service. Right click this and go to
properties. Choose to disable this, then apply and it
will not run the next time windows is started.
On the other hand, if you are referring to pop-up ads or
banner ads using msn messenger you will have to look into
a third party filtering system. This may be available at
www.mess.be which is a tweaking page for msn messenger.
