MSN Add-in for Windows Messenger 5.0

Hello together!

I used Windows (XP) Messenger 4.7 with MSN Add-in (to
check Inbox at my Hotmail-account).
After update to Windows Messnger 5.0 the MSN Add-in
doesn't work. I tried to re-install it and received this
error message: "You do not have the latest version of
Messenger."
Does anyone has a solution for this?

I need to be connected with Exchange Server abd IM. 4.7 (add-in work for
that version)does not work with Exchange so I must upgrade to 5 and I would
countinue to be informed about hotmail message..

Hi Udn,

Add-Ins are not supported in Windows Messenger 5. As such, the features included in the
Add-In are no longer available in Windows Messenger 5. If you require the MSN Add-In
functionality, you'll either need to install and use MSN Messenger 6
(http://messenger.msn.com/Download) or go back to Windows Messenger 4.7. To do so, click
Start, then Run, type (or copy/paste) the following:
msiexec.exe /x {ABEB838C-A1A7-4C5D-B7E1-8B4314B10138}
and then click OK.

Then, you can reinstall Windows Messenger 4.7 from here:

Hi,

Unfortunately then you have to use two clients -- Windows Messenger 5 for connecting to your
Exchange IM server, and MSN Messenger 6 to connect to the .NET Messenger Service.
