View Full Version : Only detecting one video device

Here's my situation:

I have a USB webcam AND an external camera connected to a WINTV card. When
I run the "audio/video tuning wizard" in MSN Messenger, it only sees the
VFW camera and NOT the webcam. Both do work, and Messenger used to use my
webcam, but now doesn't even detect it anymore!

Any suggestions would be greatfully received!

Thanks!

Greetings Cadguy,

What brand and model of USB webcam is it?

Hi Johnathan,

I have an Intel HomePc camera. Details:
http://www.intel.com/pccamera/homepccamera/techspec.htm

I haven't tried removing the WinTV (Hauppauge) card, but I'm pretty sure
that the (USB) camera would show up (as a selectable video device in
Messenger). I'll give it a try just to confirm later.

Problem solved! I removed the Wintv card - tested, plugged card back in
and now I can select either device in Messenger (and other progs). So
thanks for replying Jonathan!
