*tmp files and similar junks are all over My Documents and ofer user's
folders. Most are planted by Office 2003 but evidenly XPProSP2 also seeds
them.
Any ideas how to funnel them to wehere it should be - the TEMP Folder ?

The system uses \Windows\temp to write tmp files. Install processes and bad
programing often leave folders and / or foles under \Windows\temp. That
folder should be cleaned up weekly or monthly.
For each user the TEMP foler is within their profile under Local Settings.
The path can be set under Computer Properties, Advanced, Environment
varibles.
If on a domain server the Admin would decide where they go.
Office 2003 has about 230 MB of Setup files it keeps so the CD does NOT need
to be loaded for minor changes and updates.
XP SP2 (especially PRO) does screw with User Profiles and / or write TMP
file aany where except \Windows\Temp.
Most of the Temp files can be delete with disk clean up.
Bad installs leave TMP and other junk in the Temp folders.
More detail is needed about your problem to say if you really have a problem
other than porr clean up proceedures.
