I get the following message when starting XP in safe mode. 'The following
file is missing or corrupt' WindowsRoot\System32\ntoskrnl.exe
I want to install sp2. Will installing sp2 correct this error or should I
correct the file first?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

Correct the error first. Here is an MSKB article which will hopefully help
you to resolve the problem:

I've seen the knowledgeware site. My only problem is I only have a recovery
CD from Toshiba. I do not have a XP installation CD. Can I use the recovery
CD or is this a question for Toshiba support.

Thanks,
Tom
