Every time I try to install SP2, I get a Invalid Product Key error. I have
already visited the microsoft site regarding this error. I have followed the
directions regarding piracy, but nothing tells me how to install SP2 in spite
of this error. Can this be done? Am I just out of luck regarding the
installation of SP2?

Please advise.

Hi,

If you are getting the error because you have a pirated volume license copy
of WinXP (commonly referred to as the corporate version), then the only
solution to your problem is to purchase and install a legal retail version
of WinXP Pro. There is no workaround to this.

Yes, and local law enforcement officers will be round to see you
shortly. ;-)

If you bought this machine with the O/S on it, go back and complain and
tell them M$ will be beating on their door if they don't _give_ you a
legal XP.

Otherwise simply purchase XP Full Retail Version from a reputable
retailer and reinstall.
