Hi all. We are getting ready to deploy Windows XP SP2
with the firewall turned off and during our testing we
have noticed an issue with Outlook XP - when a machine is
upgraded to XP SP2, messages dont seem to appear in
outlook right away - there is some delay. Even though we
dont have the firewall turned on, we add an exception for
outlook.exe and still experienced the problem.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
THanks.

I've read a few rumblings in the m.p.outlook groups. Have you tried
disabling the firewall service via the services mmc snap-in?

Thanks guys. We have a few people who are running
outlook 2003 and we have not seen the problem. However,
we, as a firm, are not ready to deploy outlook 2003.
I'm trying to disable the ICS service and we'll see what
happens. We have the firewall disabled so i'm hoping the
ics service can help out.
Thanks again.
