View Full Version : How to remove WebEx integration from Windows Messenger?

I'm looking for a way to disable WebEx integration with Windows
Messenger. We have an alternative collaboration/application sharing
solution, and are trying to reduce potential confusion.
I removed my WebEx client from Add/Remove Programs, rebooted, but it
still shows up. I'm not sure what else I can try.
Thanks for any advice or direction!

Hi Kevin,
I'm not quite familiar with what WebEx does to Messenger (nor have I seen it), but if it just
adds a "Start WebEx" or "Start Collaborating" (or something similar) to the sidebar in
Messenger (and the Actions menu), you can simply remove this in the registry. To do so,
click Start, then click Run and enter "regedit.exe". Find the My
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dir ectPlay\Applications key (they look like
folders), and then click the application you want to delete Then click the Edit menu and then
click Delete, confirm the operation, and then exit the registry editor. You'll also need to
restart Messenger to see the change.
