View Full Version : taskbar clock

How can I stop the notification area clock from
displaying the day of the week in addition to the time?
The other user profile does not do this, and it makes the
entire taskbar and icons twice as "thick" as they should
be. Nothing in the right-click menu or control panel
seems to affect this. [Both profiles have admin. rights.]
THANX!

Move your cursor just over the top of the taskbar, until you see a =
double (black) arrow, left click and hold, then drag the bar down to the =

Lock the task bar must be disabled first.

Ted, a few places to check.
Right click in any of your toolbars and choose View> Small Icons. If
Large Icons is selected it will force the taskbar to be just a bit
taller so that time and day show.
With normal settings, if you go 2 rows high with the taskbar, you get
three items: date, time and day. The fact that you only have 2 out of
those three possibles displaying, indicates something is off with your
icon sizings somewhere.
The other place to check is in Display> Appearance. Click the Advanced
button. Select Icon Spacing Vertical and bump the number down a few
notches. As a reference for your settings: Using Normal fonts and a
1280x960 desktop, the number for Icon Spacing (vertical and horizontal)
is 43.
