Having successfully (?) installed SP2, I've noticed that the All Users folder
is no longer visible in the Explorer tree unless I enable "show protected
operating systems" in folder options. I know that this is not correct as
I've recently installed SP2 on a friend's laptop and his All Users folder is
visible. I also know that All Users on my machine is working properly as
recently installed programs are in there. Is there a way to restore the
status of All Users in the Explorer tree without enabling protected operating
system folders?

Remove the System and Hidden attributes for "All Users" folder, using =
the Attrib command:

Microsoft Windows XP - Attrib:=20
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/=
en-us/attrib.mspx
