View Full Version : OE won't send after XP-SP2 installed

I can receive mail, but Outlook Express won't send and I've tried setting up
a new account and removing all firewalls and anti-virus barriers. I'm trying
to avoid doing a System Restore after downloading XP service pack 2. Any
suggestions?

Do you get any error messages? Post them in their entirety.

That's usually due to e-mail scanning. But if you turned it off and
still had the problem, post to the OE newsgroup for better advice:

Thanks for your time, Bruce. FYI, I did a pre-SP2 System Restore and nothing
was resolved. I believe that the installation of SP2 somehow corrupted some
registry files so I anticipate that nothing short of a full Windows XP
re-install is going to help. That should take up a full day re-installing all
the productivity software programs and downloading all the updates I had on
my system. I envision somewhere between 20 and 30 re-boots in my forecasted
future tomorrow. Sucks to be me.
