View Full Version : ati2dvag error

Hi to all,
I'm in big troubles with my laptop. It is an IBM T30 with winxp sp1.
My laptop appeared to work fine, until a week ago I started to have strange
system crashes: I received a blue screen with an error reporting a device
problem with
the ati2advag driver. This type of error repeats a lot of time.
Thank you for any advice
Follow the log file created after the crash:

It is a problem with your video card and from what you typed it is an ATI
video. Contact them for help.

Might as well stand and pee upwind for all they'll do except tell you to
update your drivers in a canned email.
Speaking from personal experience on more than one occcassion.
Also might want to check in the "...videocards.ati..." newsgroup.

newsgroup "alt.comp.periphs.videocards.ati"
If you're directly connecting to Microsoft's news server, they probably
don't carry the newsgroup. Try your own ISP's news server instead as they
probably carry it (I've never had an isp that didn't, least in recent
years). Note, not just ATI are represented, there's nVidia along with
various motherboard manufacturers, modem(s) etc. etc. under the
"...periphs..." tree.
Sorry, just assumed you'd search the newsgroup names under OE for ".ati".

Look for updated ATI graphics card drivers from the IBM website.
