After purchasing the Home Edition and installed the
program I kept getting popup telling me it had found new
drivers for my (what ever it may have been) then would ask
for a disc to install the program I became so tired of
this that I would dump or uninstall it and reinstall at
least 6 times and now you tell me I have over used the
program and that I no longer can install it, you will not
authorize me at the end of the instelation that I have
used up all of my options. now since I paid for this
program, this disc and the program belongs to me and I
would like to install it in a diferant computer that I
just purchased, I would appreciate a reply on this matter

Err, no, it doesn't. You merely own a licence to use it. The program on the
disc belongs to Microsoft. As for your other 'problem' it's merely a BCAK
issue. Once you've sorted that, then problem solved.

You can activate the same copy of XP as many times as you need to. You
can only have that copy installed on one computer. Suggestions:
-- You have 30 days before you *have* to activate. Get everything setup
and running. Then activate.
-- If the activation is failing, there is another option on that screen
to call Microsoft. Use it. They will activate it for you over the phone.

For your drivers problem:
Start Windows XP in Safe Mode. To do this turn on the computer and
rapidly tap the F8 key, starting just as soon as the first information
of any kind shows on the screen (well before the first Windows XP
Startup Logo). Continue tapping F8 rapidly until the Windows XP
Startup Menu appears and choose Safe Mode from the menu.
When in Safe Mode open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device
Manager and check through all categories of devices listed.
1. If any devices that are listed more than once then uninstall all
repeat all instances of that device.
2. If there are any devices listed in the "other devices" category
uninstall all of them
3. If there are any devices listed with a conflict or error flag then
delete those devices.
4. If there are any devices listed that you are certain are no longer
present on the computer then uninstall these.
Shut down and restart normally. Windows XP will redetect and
reinstall a single instance of those devices that actually exist.
For your activation problem:
Do a telephone activation using the number given on the activation
screen. Just tell them you are having to do repeated reinstalls
because of hardware problems.
Good luck

You are making a couple incorrect assumptions. Neither I nor anyone in
these groups have told you that you can't install now. This is a
Peer-tp-Peer support forum. Microsoft maintains no official presence
here. Though, a few MS employees do hang out and volunteer their time.
Also, You can install and un-install as many times as you like, as
long as there has been no significant hardware changes.
I suggest you first, run the compatibility wizard, then un-install or
upgrade any programs that the list tells you about, Download updated
Video and Sound drivers, and bacj-up your data files.
Then, perform a clean install of XP( this gets rid of any garbage that
was on your old OS ). You shouldn't have any trouble activating over
the net. But, If you, just call the TOLL-FREE number. You will need to
explain what is happening and read them a long number. But, You should
have any problem getting an activation code. Might take 5 minutes.
