sort by group, then hide offline

I swear I used to be able to sort by contacts, and hide
the offline people. But for quite a while now (and at
least 5-10 versions)I haven't been able to. Does anyone
know which version allowed this? I really need it.

Currently running Windows Messenger version 4.7 (4.7.2009)

You can put it into Group Mode by clicking the Tools menu, then Sort Contacts by, and choose
Groups. However if you want to have all the offline contacts together, you'll need MSN
Messenger 6:
