I have a win2k svr running dhcp at home. I have a desktop with winxp
sp1 which connects fine. As soon as i take my worklaptop and connect it
at home I get limited or no connectivity issues. This happenes even if
i add a static ip. I have even tried to remove sp2 and I am getting the
same issue. It used to work 100% before I installed sp2. I have removed
the winodws firewall and I have unchecked the notify me checkbox in
the connection properties. Have no idea what else could be wrong.
Any ideas?

I saw the same issue but can't remember the details. Can you ping the server
by ip? if yes, can you ping it by name? posting the result of ipconfig /all
my help.

I am obviously uninstall IPv6 and other unneeded network components in this
case.

I cannot ping the server by name or IP even if I set the laptop to
manuall config. The ping result is a destination host unreachable. The
ip range is:
DHCP: 10.1.10.1, 255.255.255.192
Client adderesses: 10.1.10.2 - 40, same subnet.
