SP2 - mouse is dwell clicking

I installed SP2 on my laptop (HP Pavilion) and now the mouse is dwell
clicking. There are no options in the mouse properties to turn this off, and
it's driving me NUTS. Any suggestions? I installed and uninstalled SP2 once
before because of this issue and then several programs didn't work, so I had
to reinstall it.

Remove and re-install the mouse drivers??

Remove the mouse from Device Manager and reboot. XP should replace it back
into Device Manager.

Uninstall the mouse driver and reinstall the latest sp2 compatible version.
