Can's use Win Media Player, at all, SP2 may be at fault

I have posted this in the Windows Media Player Newsgroups, they recommened
posting here, they think that it may be some sort of problem caused by SP2,
any help is appriciated. Thanks. Here is the post.

Got a new Dell with WMP 10 and music match pre-installed. It looks like
music match is somehow integrated with wmp 10. Called custormer support
about this error. Whenever I click on wmp I get a pop-up warning box that
says:

Do you want to allow this?

Current site: go.microsoft.com

Trusted site: wwwp.musicmatch.com

Yes No

Warning allowing this can expose your computer to security risks. If you

The *'s represent the pop-up box's boundries. Yes and No are select buttons.

No matter what I click on yes or no, media player will quick working (Not
Responding) after two clicks on anything. Menus, Library, Radio, it does not
matter. I get no error code, I have to "EndNow" and send the report. Tech
support and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling wmp, no luck. We also
uninstalled music match for windows media player, no luck. I've have added
each web address, together and seperatly to my trusted and then not-trusted
web sites in the security boxes of internet options. I am still not able to
get any wmp working. So far wmp is still the default player for all media.
Sometimes I can get the medio guide to load but can't click on anything after
that because it fails. After the first failure, when I click on wmp a second
time it just instantly fails.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on and how to fix it? Tech help,
both basic and advanced over at Dell could offer no help.

Even though Dell installed Music Match on the system they don't know what to
do to solve your problem? Something smells fishy to me. Give Dell another
call and this time don't get off the phone until they fix your machine.
Whatever it takes. If you have go up in support to a manager, then do so.
If you have to send it back to them, on their dime, then fine. This kind of
support runaround really gets me irritated. Dell is a better company than
that. I have a feeling that Music Match is the problem here. Have you
uninstalled it and then tried Windows Media Player

I have a story concerning a Compaq Presario that would send you into
uncontrollable fits of hysterical laughter. I'll just mention two things:
Bangalore, India and Windows XP OEM by Compaq. 'Nuff said.

Try removing musicmatch.com from the Trusted Sites list.

Security Warning appears when you try to navigate to a Trusted site from =
