Sharon,

Tried the Function Key idea.... It works for non-DOS
applications fine. However, I'm trying to capture an image
generated via a DOS program.... Any ideas on that one????

Thanks for help in advance!

MIKE

Before Windows loads, the Function Lock key is disabled. I've been
successful keeping it engaged just by holding it down when I need it
(getting the F8 advanced startup menu to appear, for example).

Jason Tsang and another MVP came up with a way to disable the function
lock key. You lose the extra functions and retain the old standards.
Unfortunately, this tool (registry edits) only works when Windows is
loaded. It may be useful for something else so here's the URL for that:

I've seen a few help sites that simply use photos of DOS screens that
occur before Windows loads. Not necessarily a "pretty" presentation but
adequate for their purposes.
